Week 4 Results

As all of you know, I joined Weight Watchers last week. Last night was my first weigh in and I lost 6.2 lbs!!! When I joined I was wearing jeans, a belt and a sweater because I had no idea I was going to join until I was about to get off work that day. So, 3 lbs. was probably my clothes because according to my scales at home I lost 3 lbs. this week. Now I'm at a total of 8 lbs. and I'm pretty excited about it! Thank you all for all your words of encouragement through this month. It's been tough and I've struggled, but I'm still sticking to it!

We have become extremly busy at work and it's the end of the month. I've been trying to catch up on blogs a little at a time, but haven't had time to blog myself. Hope you all are doing well and have a great weekend!

Week 3 Results

Still not the results I was hoping for, but I lost 6 ounces. Which means I've lost a total of 5 pounds. Not bad, but not great either. I decided to step it up a notch and I joined Weight Watchers last night. I've been cheating on my diet and I decided I needed to try something different. I really want to lose weight and I'm not ready to give up just yet! Hopefully, Weight Watchers will give me the extra push that I need. Wish me luck!

Please spread the word...Tammy's Tanning and Nails is opening today in Conway. As I posted earlier, Tammy has 2 Triple Bronzing Beds. They are 14 minute beds, compared to the traditional 20 minute beds. I stopped by last night to test one out and I loved it! She has great hours if you want to stop in on your lunch hour or swing by after work! She is opened Tuesday - Friday - 11 am - 7 pm and Saturday - 9am - 2 pm. She has great rates on her packages and has a case full of tanning lotions! If you have any questions, please give her a call at 252-585-0166. She will also be doing manicures and pedicures when she finishes school in May.

Is it Monday?

Is it Monday because I really thought it was Tuesday? Okay...I get up on time this morning (big surprise) so I could make Alyssa pancakes and get gas before I went to work. I went outside and started my truck so it would be warm for the kids. I finished getting them ready and we headed out the door. Alyssa jumped in the front seat and said I thought you started the truck. I went to try to start it and it wouldn't start. Great! So... we all go back in the house and call my Daddy. He arrives a few minutes later with gas. The truck still won't start. He has to go back home to get his battery charger. He comes back and charges the battery. So...I got up early and I was still late for work. Now, I am worried my truck won't start when I get off this afternoon. I must be having a Monday on a Tuesday! But...look at the snow! Love it! Our Weekend

We had a great weekend! Friday night, I took the kids out to eat at Napoli's as promised. We met Shari and Corey there for supper. Sorry the kids were so wild Shari! I spent all day cleaning Saturday! Then some of our friends came over to cookout. The girls headed to a jewelry party and the guys stayed at our house and cooked. We had a great time at the jewelry party!!! Sunday, was just a lazy day. I went to Murfreesboro with the girls to pick up a few things and get lunch and then I dropped Alyssa off at a birthday party. CJ and the boys headed to the Slot Car Track. I stayed home with Camryn and Logan. Logan was one busy little boy and he drove me crazy! LOL But, all and all, it was a good weekend. Now back to work!

Well...only a couple of more hours and I'm out of here for the weekend! Tonight, we are going to Napoli's to eat pizza for Logan's 2 green cards. (Hopefully today will make 3...fingers crossed.) Tomorrow the kids head to their Dad's in the morning. The boys are going to their Mom's today, so we have a free night tomorrow night! WOOHOO! (We only get 2 a month without any kids, that's no much when you have 5 all the time!) My house is in some desperate need of attention, so I'm going to start my Saturday off cleaning. Saturday night, Cathy and Donnie are coming over to cook out. Cathy and I are heading to a jewelry party at 7 while the men stay and cook! I'm sure they will enjoy that because they can take their time without us asking them every 10 minutes, "Is it ready yet"? No plans for Sunday. Hopefully, just a lazy day at home. Between ball games and working out (one night..LOL), I don't think we have been home all week. Oh yeah, I was home by myself Monday with 5 kids and 2 of them were ill! Fun, Fun! I really got a lot accomplished that night. Just a little bit of sarcasm there....

Oh, by the way, my sister-in-law is opening up a new shop in Conway, NC. The shop is called Tammy's Tanning and Nails. Hopefully, it will be opening any day now. She's had a few bumps but she's almost there. Anyways, she has 2 brand new triple bronzing beds that are sooooo nice. The maximum you lay in these beds are 14 minutes compared to the traditional 20 minutes. She is currently in school for nails and will be finished in May. So, once she is finished with school and the state board, she will be doing manicures and pedicures!!! As far as I know, her hours are the following: Sunday and Monday - closed, Tuesday - Friday 11:00 am - 7:00 pm and Saturday 9:00 am - 2:00 pm. I have plans to stop by her shop and take some pictures and I will let you know the exact date of her opening. I am soooo excited for her and I can't wait to go tan! Please spread the word!

Week 2 Results

Okay...so I almost didn't blog today because my results are not good. But, I decided that would mean I was giving up and I am not giving up on my diet. So..I only lost 2 ounces! Yep, that's right, ounces not pounds. I had actually put on 2.2 lb and lost 2.4 lb this week. I overindulged this past weekend on a few things causing the gain. But, instead of giving up like I usually do, I pushed to lose it again. So, I'm looking at as a positive learning experience.

On the brighter side, Rhonda and Cathy both had tremendous weight losses this week and I am so proud of both of you!!! Rhonda will share hers on her blog, but Cathy lost 9.4 lb for her first week at Weight Watchers! Isn't that amazing?!?! She's off to a great start! Good luck this week girls! Hopefully, I will have better results to report next Friday.

Just a little blogging.....

Logan had a BLUE day yesterday. Meaning...his green card streak came to an end and he received a blue card for interrupting class. He said he tried really hard. He promised he was going to try harder today. I guess we'll see.

Last night, I came flying in the door to cook supper before the game and found that my husband had cleaned the kitchen, swept the floor, loaded the dishwasher and took out the trash! WOW! I was surprised! I hate to say it, but I have to leave breakfast dishes in the morning. It's busy at my house with 5 kids. Plus, I have to go to 2 schools, pick the twins up (our friends), drop off stuff at Mama's (every morning!) and get to work by 8. No wonder it feels like a break when I get here.

After we ate supper, we headed to the boys basketball game. Logan wore his Spiderman costume under his clothes and put his mask in his pocket! LOL It was just too cute. Nobody knew he was "Peter Parker". LOL Boys! The boys won their game and Aaron and Nathan played very well!

Rhonda and I are heading to the gym in Jackson tonight. Cathy is heading to Weight Watchers for her first week! I wonder if she will let me post her weight loss tomorrow! Hmmmm....we'll have to see! :) Good luck tonight Cathy! I know you did great! Thanks to you and Rhonda for keeping me on track! I love you both!

Alyssa's Field Trip

On Friday, the 4th grade went on a field trip to the Dismal Swamp State Park. Even though it was really, really cold, the kids had a great time. They walked on a nature trail, attended a class about the animals and even made their own animal print.

Another Green Card

If I could dance....I would be doing my happy dance right now! Yep! Logan brought home another green card! That's 2 in a row! 8 more to go and he can go to the treasure box at school. He is so proud of himself, and his Mama is mighty proud too!

I just had to blog about Logan's green card. At our school, the children get green, yellow, blue or red for their behavior for the day. Green being the best and red being the worst. Well, at my house we see a lot of yellow, blue and some red. The girls always got green. In fact, somedays I didn't even think to ask them what color they got because I knew it was green. But....with my little boy, it's been a different story. This is the first green we have seen in a long time and the teacher even wrote "Great Day". I just talked to Logan on the phone and he said he did it just for me and he was going to do it everyday. See...my mean, little boy can be sweet.

16 Random Things

After reading Shari's, Shelley's and Donielle's, I decided to see if I could come up with 16 random things. So here we go....

1. I got married when I was 18 the first time and 28 the second time.

2. I have 5 children - 3 from my first marriage and 2 step-sons

3. Rhonda and I share the same birthday, July 15, 1976. We were both born at the same hospital and she's a few minutes older than me. We found out when we were teenagers and our Daddy's swear they talked in the waiting room. I was from Gaston, she was from Milwaukee.

4. I have one brother, Dave. We are 21 months apart and he is the best brother in the world!

5. CJ and I both were married to our first spouses 8 years. We have been married to each 4 so far and still counting!

6. My parents have been married to each other for 42 years!!!!

7. I am a procrastinator. I put everything off to the last minute.

8. I am too nice! I have a hard time standing up for myself.

9. I'm crazy about spelling! (My friends proofread their emails to me!) LOL

10. I drive a Yukon XL because I have 5 kids...my dream car is a Chevrolet Malibu.

11. I LOVE my job and I LOVE my co-workers! I can't imagine being anywhere else!

12. I have one yellow Lab, Paisley, but Cocker Spaniels are my favorite dog!

13. I'm obsessed with regular soft drinks...Coca-Cola and Dr.Pepper..but I'm working on it.

14. I talk too loud and I laugh too loud. But I always have a good time!

15. I do not drink any alcohol. I can't handle it. I may be allergic. Crazy, huh?!?!

16. I love Longaberger baskets. Yes, they cost too much, but they are my weakness.

Unofficial Results

Well...I won't be at work tomorrow because Alyssa has a field trip. So, I weighed this morning and I have lost 4.2 lbs. I was hoping for a little more, but it's a start!!! I could probably step it up a notch, but I want it to be a lifestyle change and not just a crash diet. So, I'm still eating the things I have always eaten, I've cut back on my portions, cut out on all the snacking and I'm only drinking 1 soft drink a day instead of 8 or 9. I'm also drinking lots of water. I did go walking one day and tried to do some exercises at home. That was funny and my legs hurt for 2 days!

A little of this, a little of that....

Not much has been going on my way. We had a lazy weekend...took down the tree, layed around and watched movies, ate take out! The kids went back to school yesterday. I took a survey on the way to school and 3 out of 4 kids were not ready to go back! LOL Camryn was the only one ready to go. I've been sticking to my diet..... drinking plenty of water, cutting way back, a little walking. I'll post my weight loss on Friday.

Did anyone watch Diet Tribe on Lifetime last night? It came on at 10, but I sat up to watch it. CJ actually sat up and watched it with me. It was so nice of him to sit there and eat chips and dip at 10:00 while I'm watching a show about weight loss! LOL Thanks Honey! LOL Chips are not my weakness, so it really didn't bother me. Now, if he was eating cookies...it would have been a different story! LOL I enjoyed the show. I could sympathize with the girls. They were all about my age and some of them my size. It was a little hard hearing the trainer talk about these girls were obese and had a LOT to lose while knowing they weighed the same thing I did! Talk about reality slapping you in the face!!! Oh well...I'll just take it one day at a time and hope for the best. :)

The Old Kelly

I can NOT believe I am putting these pictures up here! So....here we go....Diet Tribe 2009 (yeah, we stole it from Lifetime). Okay...today is the day! I got on the scales this morning and I weighed more than I did nine months pregnant with any of my children. What in the world happened to me?!?! Oh yeah, I remember....FOOD! I am going to try to blog every Friday on how I'm doing. If you have any advice or words of encouragement, please share. I am determined to lose weight this time...even if it takes embarrassing myself! So, say GOODBYE to the OLD KELLY! This is the last time I will ever weigh this much!!!
